Old Skool surfboards are truly a work of art from an aesthetic and technical standpoint. However, these watercraft are not what have been traditionally referred to as "wall hangers" within the surfing industry, but rather they are fully functional surfboards that are simply beautiful, and can also be classified as works of art.
      All surfboards are made of wood, and handcrafted by Trace Tift. Think about taking a fine oil painting from your house, and then surfing on that painting. This is what these surfboards represent. Tedious loving craftsmanship goes into the building of each surfboard. As in any investment, you want to preserve the value and have that value appreciate over time.
      A polyester fiberglass exterior and marine epoxy interior is professionally applied to each surfboad to ensure a rich and potective quality, and to help you preserve your investment for years to come. The name brand laminate "Old Skool" appears under the fiberglass, as well as the builders signature and individual board number, to ensure quality and worth.
       Expansion of air within the chamber of the hollow wooden surfboard is managed by a flush mount micro fiber air vent. The outline, or "planshape" of the surfboards are made of redwood, as well as the nose block and centerline stringers top and bottom of the surfboards. Yes centerline stringers! This is the literal signature to the building of these boards by Trace Tift. Trace takes great pride in this construction feat, as it clearly serves functional and aesthetic value, not ever before seen in the vintage hollow surfboard era. The decking, or top and bottom of the surfboards, are made of "book matched" mahagony to create similar grain patterns, and are adhered by ring shank nails. There is no vaneer used in the building of these surfboards. All interior hardware is stainless steel, and covered with redwood dowels. Kiln dried wood construction ensures even weight distribution for performance.
